Abstract

The novel lysine salt of the 21-m-sulphobenzoate of a cortisone compound, e.g. cortisone, hydrocortisone, 9a -fluorocortisone, D 1-cortisone, 9a - fluoro - D 1 - hydrocortisone, 16a - methyl - D 1 - hydrocortisone, 9a - fluoro - 16a - methyl - D 1 - hydrocortisone, 9a - fluoro - 16b - methyl - D 1 - hydrocortisone and 11b ,17a ,21 - trihydroxy - 20 - oxo - 6,16a - dimethyl - 21 - phenyl - 4,6 - pregnadieno - [3,2-c] - pyrazole, is obtained by reacting an acid 21-m-sulphobenzoate of a cortisone compound with lysine. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the above salts and having anti-inflammatory or leukopeniant activity are administered orally, perlingually, topically, transcutaneously or rectally.
