Abstract

1,103,374. Vehicle generating systems. K. G. CORFIELD Ltd. 11 Nov., 1965 [4 Nov., 1964], No. 45041/64. Heading H2H. A relay coil 20 is connected to an A.C. or D.C. vehicle generator output terminal 12 the relay contacts 23 shunting a series resistor or rectifier 24 in a line 18 connecting a voltage regulator 15 to an ignition switch (not shown). An additional contact 22 may be provided and connected to a warning lamp. On closing the ignition switch, resistor 24 passes sufficient current to allow the generator to build up sufficient voltage to energize the relay which shunts the resistor. On opening the ignition switch the ignition current is reduced below the ignition point by the resistor 24. The relay coil is not supplied from the battery.
