A milling-cutter comprises a body 1 having a circular recess 2 in its front face to provide an annular ridge 3 which is slotted to receive throw-away tips 5, all the tips being seated and located on a ring 8 fitting into the recess. The tips are secured by wedges 6 operated by screws 17 in the body or in the ring.
