Abstract
Novel benzimidazoles of the formula <FORM:1101150/C2/1> <FORM:1101150/C2/2> (in which either R is a group of the formula (Ia) or a pyridyl or (lower alkyl)-pyridyl group and one of the symbols Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, CF3, NO2, NH2, di-lower alkyl-amino, lower alkanoyl or sulphamoyl and each of the others can have one of these meanings or is hydrogen; or in which R is cycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-lower alkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkenyl-lower alkyl, aryl-lower alkyl in which the aryl group may be substituted by one or more of the substituents listed under the values for Ra etc., and Ra and Rb can have any of the above values or can be hydrogen), their N-oxides, and acid-addition and alkali metal salts of these compounds are prepared by the methods disclosed in the parent Specification 1,101,149.
