[Also in Division H3] A system for repetitively keying an audio frequency in a predetermined pattern comprises two coils between which a ferromagnetic disc rotates, the edge of the disc being notched according to the predetermined pattern so that the coupling between the coils is varied. In a radio beacon an audio-frequency generator is coupled to one coil and the other coil is connected to an amplifier feeding a modulator supplied with the carrier frequency. The pattern of notches may correspond to a Morse code signal.
