Abstract

1,100,633. Protective arrangements. COMPAGNIE DES COMPTEURS. 5 May, 1965 [5 May, 1964], No. 18965/65. Heading H2K. A minimum voltage relay responsive to symmetrical or assymmetrical faults on a threephase supply system comprises conventional filter circuits 10, 11 respectively, providing negative and positive sequence voltages whose difference is fed to a detector 12 also supplied via circuits 13, 14 with a stabilized reference voltage adjustable to determine the operating point of the relay. When the input at terminals 12a, 12a<SP>1</SP> falls below that at 12b, 12b<SP>1</SP> an amplifier 15 (normally quiescent) energizes a control or indicating circuit 16 and also the circuit 13, which thereupon adds a predetermined constant voltage to the reference voltage to produce a positive feed-back effect in detector 12 and so ensure continued operation of members 15, 16 until the voltage at terminals 12a, 12a<SP>1</SP> rises to exceed the sum of the reference voltage and the predetermined voltage, whereupon the predetermined voltage is removed and members 15, 16 restore to normal. A theoretical discussion is given of the functioning of the relay and the derivation of its various operating parameters, Figs. 2, 3 and 4 (not shown).
