Abstract

110,060. Burdick, C. L., and Hill, L. G. Dec. 11, 1916. Powder blowers.-In a dust-distributor, which may be used for delivering fuller's earth &c. into the ventilating-shafts of mines, the dust is contained in a cylindrical casing 1, Fig. 1, and is blown through one or more tubes 4 carried by arms 5 by means of compressed air issuing from one or more nozzles 7. The container 1 mav have a cover 2 carrying a hood 3. Before passing to the nozzles 7, the air is purified by a moistureextractor 10, 11 and by a strainer consisting of a cloth bag 9 removably suspended in a tube 8. The flow of air is regulated by a valve 6'. An additional nozzle 12<1>, Fig. 3, may be arranged to discharge a blast of air across the stream issuing from the tube 4.
