Abstract

A dental adhesive comprises one or more alkalie metal alginates, in admixture with one or more physiologically harmless alkaline earth metal salts of organic acids. The alginate may be the sodium salt; the other salt may be the Ca, Sr or Mg salt of ascorbic, tartaric, citric, malic, lactic, or glycerophosphoric acid. Anhydrous glycerin, gum tragacanth or gum arabic may additionally be present.
