A tie for securing together shuttering for each side of a concrete wall to be cast, has notches 6 spaced apart by a distance less than the thickness of the wall and rubber bands 8 extending outwards from the notches which when the concrete has set allow the ends of the ties to be moved back and forth and broken off.
