Abstract

An alloy comprises:- <TABS:1099785/C6-C7/1> the balance apart from impurities and residual deoxidants e.g. Mg up to 0.1% being iron. Small amounts of Ta are naturally present in commercial sources and up to 1/10 of the Nb content may be Ta. The alloy may be extruded, annealed at 1150 DEG C. and optionally aged at 800 DEG C.
