Abstract

1,099,499. Packaging tablets. ASPRONICHOLAS Ltd. Nov. 16, 1965 [Nov. 26, 1964], No. 48193/64. Heading B8C. A package for tablets &c. comprises an aluminium foil base 1 on which tablets &c. 8 are held by a transparent thermoplastic blister film 3, e.g. cellulose acetate or polyvinylchloride, which is glued to the base. The film 3 has an extension in the form of a dished shaped cover 5 which hinges over the base 1. The cover 5 has its internal surface shaped at the corners 7 so that it can be snapped over the blisters at the end of the row of tablets, &c. remote from the hinge 4. In another embodiment, a blister film (12), Fig. 4 (not shown), is glued to a base (9) and an extension from the base forms a plane portion (15), the same size as the base, as well as a dished cover (17). Tablets are held under the base by the blister film. The base (9) is hinged about a line (13) on to the plane portion (15) (in the direction of the arrow A, Fig. 4) and the cover 17 hinged over (in the direction of the arrow B) and snapped on to the tablets (10), Fig. 5 (not shown). In a further embodiment, a base (21), Fig. 6 (not shown), has tablets (20) held under it by a blister film (21). The extension of the film (21) forms firstly a tray (25) and secondly a dished cover (26). The base (19) is folded centrally (in the direction of the arrow C) and the double thickness base portion with enclosed tablets, extending both above and below it, hinged into the tray (25), Fig. 7 (not shown). The cover (26) is then snapped over the blisters (22), Fig. 8 (not shown), as in the previous embodiments. In the above embodiments, the shape of the cover and the positions of the blisters are such that the cover is held closed by slight resilient deformation. Advertising matter may be placed under the transparent covers.
