Abstract
A method for purifying zinc comprises supplying the molten impure zinc to the top of a stationary packed column, supplying electro-thermic heat to the metal film by means of electrodes at the top and bottom of the column and passing the zinc vapour to the condenser via a reflux column made of a refractory material such as silicon carbide.
