Abstract

1,098,970. Surf-board. C. COLLARO. Dec. 12, 1966, No. 55543/66. Headings B7A, B7S and B7V. A surf-board 1 which has sufficient buoyancy to support a rider is provided with a seat 3 pivotally mounted at 7 so that it can turn about an upright axis 8, a support 9 for the feet of the rider to withstand the thrust of a tow rope held by the rider, and a rudder 13 connected to the seat 3 so that the rider can, while holding the tow rope, steer the surf-board by twisting the seat. The surf-board may be of wood or be a hollow moulding of glass fibre reinforced plastics material. The forward end of the surf-board is provided with a guide for the tow rope comprising a pair of rods 11 which extend upwards with a forward inclination.
