In a method of installing wooden sections used to form for example skirting boards, door frames, door jambs and cornices (as shown), a section is fixed in position and covered with a separate thin-walled strip 1 of polyvinyl chloride, at least one longitudinal edge 3, 6 of it being inserted to fit tightly into a groove in the section, or into a gap between it and the surface to which it is attached. The strip may be utilised to cover a Section interrupted at regularly-spaced intervals along it to form a row of aligned blocks.
