Abstract

1,095,685. Cleaning cattle sheds. ALFA-LAVAL AKTIEBOLAG. Aug. 1, 1966 [March 22, 1965], No. 34441/66. Heading AIM. [Also in Division A4] A dung remover for cattle sheds comprises two divergent scrapers 1, 2 forming a V-shape to the apex of which is coupled traction means for moving the scrapers over the surface to be cleaned with their outer ends in advance of the apex. As shown the traction means comprises a cable 8 coupled to the scrapers by means of a lever 4, 6 the lever 4 being lowered when the device is moved in the direction A so that the scrapers are in scraping engagement with the shed floor. In the reverse direction lever 6 is pulled downwardly so that wheel 5 contacts the floor thereby raising the head of the device so that the scrapers trail over the floor. The scrapers are rigidly attached to each other and decrease in height from the centre to the outer edge. In a modification the scrapers are pivoted to a vertical pin so that in one direction of movement they form a V-shape and in the other direction they are closed together, being being provided to limit pivotal movement of the scrapers.
