Abstract
1,095,551. Densitometers. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO. Ltd. July 22, 1964 [July 22, 1963], No.28850/63. Heading G1S. A continuous flow density measuring apparatus comprises an open-ended tube 23 coaxially mounted within an outer tube 22 closed at one end, ligaments 25, 26 for supporting the apparatus so that it can pivot about a horizontal axis, a flexible metal bellows connection 21 to the outer tube 22 and an inner conduit 5 arranged with its ends in juxta position to the inner tube 23 at the pivotal axis. In use, a small proportion of the liquid flowing through the pipe 2, flows through conduit 5 and tubes 22, 23 fluctuations in weight of the apparatus due to variations in density being balanced by a transducer controlled servomechanism housed at 19 (see Fig. 2, not shown). The apparatus is supported in the duct by tubing 12-15 (see also Fig. 2). A pressure equalizing device is provided.
