Abstract
1,095,423. Making reinforcing units; jointing. W. HUFNAGL. Dec. 16, 1964 [Dec. 17, 1963; April 9, 1964], No. 51158/64. Headings B3A and B3Q. [Also in Division D1] A reinforcing unit consists of part circular bars 1 joined together by connecting clips 7 which are wrapped around the bar and are embedded in the bar or follow the non-circular shape of the bar. The strip may be pressed into grooves previously formed in the bar or the impressions may be formed by stamping both the bar and the strip together. Alternatively the strip may have projections formed on its underside which are pressed into the bar, or the strip may have a V-shaped underside which penetrates the bar. In a modification (Fig. 11) tongues are punched out of the strip and the tongues are bent so that they engage grooves in the bars.
