Abstract
1,095,321. Endless conveyers. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORA- rION. June 12, 1964 [June 14, 1963], No. 23893/63. Heading B8A. The lower pair of end pulleys 11 of a double-belt elevating conveyer 1 for root crops are generally planar and have their general planes converging downwardly to enable the lower end of the conveyer to fit well down between share discs 6, 7 so that the conveyer throat may closely approach crops to be harvested. Main girders 8, 9 support pivoted brackets 13, 14 for end pulleys 10, 11, the girders also supporting hinged spring-biased brackets for intermediate pulleys 12, 12<SP>1</SP>. The exact form of the conveyer throat is adjustable. To ensure that substantially parallel belt surfaces are presented to each other and to increase the area of the belts 17 offered to the crop, the belts are of non- symmetrical cross-section, Fig. 5 (not shown). The belts may carry tines or palms to assist in the conveying. Alternatively or additionally a belt provided with tines or palms may be arranged to run substantially parallel to the main belts.
