Abstract

109,504. Sutcliffe, S. Sept. 30, 1916. Hand scrapers. - Relates to hand-scrapers for mud and snow for roads and footpaths, and consists of improved means for adjusting the scraper to any desired angle to the handle so that the mud or snow can be thrown off to one side or the other of the device. For this purpose, the scraper A carries a fan-shaped plate B to which the forked extremity of the handle E is pivoted at C. The scraper can therefore be fixed in position by a pin H passing through holes G<1> in the fork and one or other of the holes F in the plate B. The fork may be attached to the scraper and the plate to the handle.
