Abstract

1,094,613. Concrete mixers. BENFORD Ltd. April 27, 1966 [Jan. 27, 1965], No. 3490/65. Addition to 1,052,031. Heading B1C. [Also in Division G1] A concrete mixing plant is supported by a tower comprising a plurality of superposed cage-like frames as at a, b, the lowermost of which supports the mixer 13 on girders 15 in such a way that it can be loaded with aggregate by a loading device at or through one side of the frame and discharged through another. The mixer may, as shown, be of the reversible rotating drum type loaded 'by a tilting weighing skip 14, or a pan type loaded by an endless belt bucket conveyer and discharging through a bottom outlet in a part of the container projecting from the framework. Cement is supplied by a silo 32, weigh hopper 25 and shoot 27 having a separate passage for water from tank 28 which is discharged in a sheet to lay cement dust. The units a, b are located by spigots and bolted together.
