Abstract
5 - (N - Morpholinylmethyl) - 3 - (5 - nitrofurfurylidene - amino) - 2 - oxazolidone is prepared by reacting the bisulphite derivative of 5-nitro furfural in an aqueous medium at a temperature between 20 DEG and 60 DEG C. and at a pH between 1 and 4 with a compound of the formula R-CH = N-A in which R represents a trichloromethyl or 2-furyl radical and A represents the 2-oxo-5-(N-morpholinylmethyl)-3-oxazolidinyl radical.
