A T-shaped diaper comprises a moistureimpervious outer layer 10 adhesively secured to an inner porous non-irrant layer 16 along its edges and beyond the edges of an enclosed absorbent pad 12, extension 20 of the layer 10 carrying pressuresensitive adhesive coatings 22 for fastening the diaper about the wearer. The extensions 20 may end in adhesive-free edges 24.
