Abstract
1,092,126. Ventilating vehicles. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. Feb. 19, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 7370/65. Heading F4V. An air mixing box 3 in the ventilation system of a television outside broadcast van has a fresh air inlet including adjustable louvres 19, an outlet 6 to atmosphere, an outlet 7 for supplying air via an air conditioning unit to the vehicle and an inlet 5 for air from the vehicle, a flap 16 controlling the proportions of air from the duct 5 passing to the outlets 6 and 7. Air passes from the conditioning unit, in which it is heated or cooled to the control room of the van, Fig. 1 (not shown), and is withdrawn by fans through the television apparatus in the room to an exhaust space communicating with the inlet 5. The flap 16 is operated by a motor 17, which also operates the louvres 19 to provide the necessary amount of compensating fresh air. The motor 17 may be controlled manually or may be automatically controlled in conjunction with the air conditioning unit to maintain a constant temperature in the van.
