Abstract

1,091,584. Stirrers; polymerisation apparatus. W. R. GRACE & CO. Sept. 2, 1965, No. 37568/65. Headings B1C and B1X. A rotatable stirrer for viscous polycondensation mixtures has opposed parallel arms 12, 14 carrying inclined flights 22, 22' and joined at the bottom by a stabilization. Member 18 which may be a disc, ring or bar. The stirrer may be arranged in an autoclave 2 having a conical base 6 and an inner hollow cylinder 26 of which the lower part has perforations 28. The stirrer is preferably rotated in such direction that the flights press the mixture downwards.
