1,090,331. Laminates. P. M. GILFILLAN. Oct. 30, 1964 [Oct. 31, 1963], No. 44457/64. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions D1 and D2] Paper 18 is coated with a polyethylene composition by being passed over a pressurized, resin containing channel 27 of an applicator 20. The coating is doctored by a heated doctor 23 in a turret 24 before being brought into contact with a second web from a roll 44, e.g. of metal foil, polyvinyl chloride sheet, polyvinyl acetate sheet, plain or printed paper. The sheets are brought together between a rubber coated roll 45 pressed against a roll 25 of controlled temperature. The laminate is then coated by being passed over a further applicator 20, doctored, cooled and wound up.
