Abstract
Compounds of the formula <FORM:1090159/C4-C5/1> where A is OH or NR, R2 and R1 and R2 are alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula <FORM:1090159/C4-C5/2> with CS2 in aqueous alkali to give a dithiocarbamate which is then reacted with a soluble salt of Fe, Hg, Cu or Pb. The alkali used may be concentrated ammonia soln. The metal salt is preferably ferric chloride.
