Nov. 4, 1916 Tapered spigot-andsocket joints.-In a pipe or like joint, allowing rotation and giving electrical connexion, the spigot has a swelling a of double-conical form, one conical surface fitting a conical seat in the socket b, and the other forming a bearing-surface for an internally coned ring c entering a cylindrical portion ol the socket and held by a nut d, which may be secured by a lock-nut e. Rotation of the ring is prevented by feathers c<1> on the ring engaging slots in the socket.
