Abstract

1,089,072. Photo-copying apparatus; electro -photographic apparatus. W. ZINDLER [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER KOMM. GES. ]. March 15, 1965 [March 28, 1964], No. 10861/65. Headings G2A and G2H. In a photo-copying apparatus, an exposure aperture 68 in a shutter 92 is movable past a transparent support surface 32 on which an original is placed, the aperture being illuminated by lamps 66, 67 in a box 64, which also contains the shutter 92 and has a slot 70 in its base so that an image ray can be reflected by a mirror 71. Further reflection by mirrors 75, 76 causes the ray to pass through a fixed lens 36 on to movable copying material 48, the length of the ray path between the original and the lens being maintained constant by movement of the mirrors as the exposure aperture moves. The box 64 and mirror 71 are mounted on a carriage comprising sleeves 61, 62 joined by a rod 63, which carriage is caused to move twice the distance moved by a carriage comprising sleeves 72, 73 joined by a rod 74 which latter carriage carries the mirrors 75, 76. The copying material 48 is fed from a spool 43 associated with rollers 44 and a knife 45 which are driven by a motor 93 which also drives the carriages. The material 48 passes corona electrodes 47, between a guide plate 51 and an exposure plate 41 where exposure is effected and then through looped sections 53, 54. The section 53 contains a developing device 55 comprising a powder-distributing device or a tray 56 in which colouring matter particles are suspended in a liquid, and a drying or fusing device 57 is provided above the section 54.
