108,890. Russell, F. G., and Phillips, A. M. Aug. 23, 1916. Potato diggers.-The tines C of a potato digger are pivoted at C' to a rotary flyer A and are provided with short lateral arms E connected by links F with levers G carrying cam-rolls K<1> riding in the cam-groove D formed in a stationary plate. Each lever G is pivoted at its forward end to the preceding flyer arm. The cam-groove D is formed with a dwell so that, while the tines are maintained approximately tangential to the curve of the flyer arms during the movement through the air, they are caused to assume a more or less radial position and to have a wide sweeping movement during their passage through the soil. The tines may be adapted to yield on striking obstructions, and the cam may be adjustable or interchangeable.
