Abstract
Azo pigments obtained by coupling derivatives of 5-pyrazolone with diazotized aromatic amines, substituted or unsubstituted, are alkylated with methyl sulphate in the absence of water or organic solvent in a molar ratio of 1:3 to 1:5, the reaction being effected at approximately 110 DEG C. by gradually adding the pigment to the methyl sulphate and then maintaining the temperature for 1 1/2 to 3 hours.
