A high-temperature electric furnace comprises a multi-loop molybdenum silicide heater element between and suspended from terminals and means 2 supporting a loop between the terminals. Means 2 comprise ceramic bars 3, protruding from the furnace walls having molybdenum silicide rollers between the support 3 and the element.
