Weigh - bridges; relieving- mechanism. - A relieving- mechanism for use either with " single " or with " tandem " weigh - bridges comprises a number of supports S adapted to be raised simultaneously into contact with the platform P by means of wedge-shaped blocks F operated by adjustable rods F<1> connected to cams C on a common shaft A. The shaft A is operated by a capstan through bevel-gearing and worm and worm-wheel gear. When applied to " tandem " weigh-bridges the relieving-mechanism may be arranged to operate on either platform separately instead of on both platforms simultaneously.
