Abstract
1,085,506. Temperature sensitive resistors. CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED. Feb. 4, 1966 [Feb. 4, 1965], No. 5045/66. Heading H1K. [Also in Division G1] A resistance thermometer comprises a thin film of, e.g. platinum located on the exposed end 9 of a glass insert 2 in a sleeve 1. The leads 3 from the ends of the platinum element are sealed into the glass, and soldered externally to a coaxial cable 5, the joins being covered by a casing 6 having a groove 7 which indicates the direction of the axis of the element. When assembled to a conduit (Fig. 3, not shown), the end face 9 may be shaped to conform with the inner surface of the conduit. The resistance element may be covered with a layer of insulating material. For measuring the flow of heat into a wall the unit may incorporate two spaced temperature-sensitive resistance elements.
