[Also in Division F2] A lubricating pump comprises a casing 1 having an inlet 27 and a plurality of outlets 29 which respectively communicate with a plurality of inlet ducts (24), Fig. 3 (not shown), and outlet ducts 28 in the fixed seating-ring 2 of a rotary distributer 3. The distributer is rotated to bring a duct 31, which communicates with the pump cylinder, successively into register with alternate inlet and outlet ducts and the pump piston 7 is actuated by a beam member 10, arranged in a slot 4 in the distributer and a slot 8 in the piston, engaging pairs of cams on a fixed ring 11. The suction strokes of the piston 7 are effected by a lever 6 pivoting about a transverse pin 5 in the distributer slot 4 and engaging the cam-type heads of set screws in a fixed ring 15. The set screws may be adjusted axially to vary the length of stroke. To prevent inadvertent adjustment of the set screws a wire spring (19), Fig. 3, is inserted in a slot (18) in the body of each screw, the spring engaging axial slots formed the female screw threads. The distributer 3 is driven from a shaft 36 by means of a pawl and ratchet mechanism. A crank 39 on the shaft produces horizontal oscillations of a U-shaped rocker 41 by means of a plunger 40, spring-biased pawl 45 engaging a ratchet wheel 43 fixed to the distributer shaft 3'. Reverse rotation of the distributer is prevented by a coil spring at the upper end of the distributer having a loop 47' which engages a slot 48 in the ring 15. To provide lubrication of the pump mechanism an outlet duct 28 communicates via a slot 30 in the ring 2 with the casing interior. Each delivery stroke of the piston 7 takes place during one advance step of the pawl and ratchet mechanism and each suction stroke during two such steps.
