Abstract

1,084,843. Lamps. MOLDCAST MANUFACTURING CO. May 19, 1966 [Sept. 9, 1965], No. 22250/66. Heading F4R. A lamp reflector comprises two or more tapered annular sections 24, 26, 28 of substantially equal size connected in axially aligned nested relationship, each of the sections above the bottom section having a return segment 38. 40 extending from the bottom of its tapered wall to the outer side of the section beneath it so as to provide an overlap 46, 48, and the outer side of each overlap as well as the inner side of each section having a reflecting surface. The reflector is supported in a cylindrical housing 50 by springs 52, 52<SP>1</SP>. The lamp bulb C is held by a socket 72 which is adjustably mounted on a support bracket D so that the bulb can be moved axially and tilted relative to the reflector. The bracket comprises a downwardly facing concave member 84 which extends diametrically across the housing and to which the socket 72 is clamped by means of bars 86, 86<SP>1</SP> and screws 88, 88<SP>1</SP>, and an arcuate member 90 which extends circumferentially around the inside of the housing and supports at its centre one end of the member 84. The member 90 can be clamped at any point along its length in one of a series of vertically spaced connecting means 94 provided on an arm 78 which is secured by screws 82 to the top of the housing. By selecting the means 94 the axial position of the lamp bulb can be adjusted, and the bulb can be secured in any required tilted position by adjusting the position of the socket 72 on the member 84 and the point at which the arcuate member 90 is clamped in the means 94.
