Abstract
The effluent from a primary sewage settling tank is flocculated with aluminium copper or iron sulphates or ferric chloride and optionally natural or synthetic polyelectrolytes or silica.ALSO:A filter bed for sewage effluent is graded from coarse to fine particles in the direction of flow with a maximum particle size of 10 mms. Anthracite and quartz sand are used in making beds.
