Abstract
Organic macromolecular materials have incorporated therein as an antistatic agent one or more phosphoric amide compounds of the formula <FORM:1082638/C3/1> or <FORM:1082638/C3/2> in which R1 represents hydrogen or a C12- 26 alkyl radical, R2 represents a C12- 26 alkyl radical, and n is an integer from 1 to 6. The agent may be incorporated by admixture with a granular, pulverulent or molten macromolecular material, or by admixture in solution. Various types of macromolecular materials are listed, those illustrated in the examples being low pressure and high pressure polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, butadiene-styrene copolymer, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, and cellulose acetate. Additives such as stabilizers, fillers and dyestuffs (unspecified) may additionally be included. The treated materials can be processed, e.g. by moulding or extruding, into various articles, sheets, tubes, fibres, filaments &c.
