Abstract

The pressure-limiting valve of the parent Specification is modified in that the by-pass valve to allow return of fluid from the output to the input on release of pressure is incorporated in the valve seat, which consists of a metal ring 19, having a coned face 21 to match that of the valve head 17 and one or more by-pass grooves 23, and a ring 22 of resilient material which normally seals the groove 23 but flexes to allow return of fluid, under the pressure built up in the output chamber 12, when input pressure at inlet 25 is released, so allowing spring 18 to open the valve. A plug 13 acts as a stop for the valve head 17 and engages extension flanges on the ring 19 to retain the latter.
