Abstract

1,080,865. Filter funnels. G. W. G. SHRUBSALL. Aug. 7, 1964 [May 15, 1963], No. 19309/63. Heading B1D. A conical support of pervious material is provided for increasing the rate of filtration of a lining of filter material e.g. paper. As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, a pervious support 16 has external ribs 26 which extend to provide legs 27 which fit within a carrier 15 for clamping onto a container opening by means of an adjustable leg 18. Filtrate from the outside of the support passes through channels in the carrier to the container interior. The support may be placed inside an impervious funnel with internal ridges 7 (Fig. 2) to keep the support out of contact with the funnel.
