Abstract
1,079,644. Pure fluid amplifiers. R.W. WARREN and R.E. BOWLES. Aug. 4, 1964 [Aug. 7, 1963], No. 31128/64. Heading G3H. Apparatus for storing binary information or a fluid amplifier comprises a power jet 14 issuing into an interaction chamber 16 which has three outlets 21, 22, 23. Control nozzles 26, 27 open at either side of the jet for switching the jets between the side walls 17, 18 to which the jet will normally lock. During a switching action a fluid pulse is delivered through the central outlet 23. The jet may also be switched by back loading one of the outlets. If the nozzle width is W, the control nozzles may be W, the outlets 2W and the distance between the outlets and the main jet nozzle at least 5W. The output passages may have curved side walls.
