Abstract

The dispersion of a magnetic iron-oxide in an organic solvent comprising employing as dispersing agent a long chain fatty acid-diamine soap, mixed with or without lecithin. These soaps may be prepared by reacting stoichiometric amounts of a saturated fatty acid having from 12 to 18 carbon atoms and a diamine having from 12 to 18 carbon atoms in each chain. Such a soap is known under the Trade Name "Troykyd 98C," and has a molecular weight of about 490.
