Abstract

Public buildings and industrial installations are disinfected with the aid of 4-chloro-2-cyclopentyl-phenol. The use of an aqueous solution of 4-chloro-2-cyclopentyl-phenol containing small amounts of isopropanol and a wetting agent is mentioned. Tests are described in which the antimicrobial properties of the solution are compared with those of similar solutions containing 4 - chloro - 2 - n - pentyl - phenol, 4-chloro-2-cyclohexyl-phenol or 2-chloro-4-cyclopentyl-phenol as the phenol.
