Abstract

An apparatus for separating solids and liquids, in particular curds and whey, comprises a trough with a drain cock in its base, means for oscillating the trough, and a sieve mounted on the trough and spaced above its base, so that liquids in material fed to the sieve pass through the sieve, into the trough, and out through the drain cocks, and solids in the material are retained on the sieve and caused to advance by the oscillation of the trough.
