Abstract

1,078,795. Party-line systems. SIEMENS A.G. March 10, 1966 [March 11, 1965], No. 10487/66. Heading H4K. Each substation connected to a party-line includes in one leg a semi-conductor-controlled rectifier S1, S2 (Fig. 3), the control being through a high resistance R1, R2 from the other leg, so that one of the rectifiers is changed to the low resistance state by current from an A.C. generator Ua when the corresponding loop is closed. In Fig. 4, rectifiers of this kind are included in both legs and earth-connected voltage-limiting resistors G1 . . . G4 are also provided. In other arrangements two oppositely-directed controlled rectifiers are connected in one or both legs. It is stated that such arrangements avoid the possibility of overhearing as the result of an earth connection at a non-participating substation.
