Abstract

A welding wire for open-arc deposition of 10-30% chromium steel consists of an iron case enclosing powdered fluxing and alloying ingredients and has the following composition:- .0.7-1.4%.chalk .3.5-5.8%.rutile .4-6.fluorspar .0.2-0.5%.aluminium .0.5%-1.5%.ferro-titanium .19.6-31.4%.alloying agents .remainder.iron case The alloying agents are:- .18-29%.ferro-chromium .0.3-0.5%.ferro-manganese .0.2-0.8%.graphite .1.1%.molybdenum Aluminium and molybdenum may be replaced by their ferro-alloys Steel deposits comprising 1.45-1.7% carbon, 11-12.5% chromium 0.4%-0.8% molybdenum, 0.1-0.3% titanium; or 2.2-2.6% carbon, 16-18% chromium, 0.3-0.4% titanium may be produced by such wires.
