Feb. 17, 1917 Funnels.-In a tundish provided with a valve a which is opened by depressing a spring-pressed rod r by means of an arm f<2> hinged to the rim of the tundish, the transverse metal strip c, which supports the valve-rod r, engages in grooves s so that, on raising the arm f<2>, the strip c can be removed from the tundish to facilitate cleaning. The spring k on the rod r is situated between the strip c and a lower supporting-strip n, from which depends a pipe p forming a guide for the rod r. A strainer m is hinged at g<2>.
