Abstract
107,831. Collins, G. H., and Collins, H. F. July 24, 1916. Plug connectors.-In an electrical connector for use with electric heating-apparatus &c., a split socket member 1 of round section is pressed from sheet metal and provided with a flat end 3 of width greater than the diameter of the socket portion proper. The socket is inserted endways into a casing 10, 13 which is shaped to receive and engage with the flattened end 3 to prevent relative rotation between the socket and casing. For more securely fixing the flexible wire 7 to the socket, the end 3 may have a flange 14 which may be notched as shown at 15, or the edge of the end 3 may be split and the parts bent over in opposite directions. To prevent rotation of the nut 5 and/or washer 6, they may have a flat edge to engage with the flange 14, or the washer 6 may be flanged to fit over the edge of the end 3 and be notched if desired to accommodate the wire.
