Abstract

1,078,066. Windscreen wipers. TRIDON MANUFACTURING Ltd. Oct. 6, 1964, No. 40783/64. Heading A4F. A windscreen wiper harness comprises an elongated member 6 (shown in part only in Fig. 4) tapering from its middle to its ends and provided with a lug 7 for connecting it to the wiper arm, and a plurality of resilient elongated members 9 integrally connected with the member 6 and slidably attached to the wiper element 3. The members 6, 9 may be formed as a single moulding of plastics material or they may be formed separately and cemented together. Claws 14 are formed integrally with the members 6 for sliding engagement with the edges of a strip 12 of plastics material cemented to the rear of the rubber wiper elements 3. In order that the element 3 may conform with a sharply curved windscreen an indent 15 is provided adjacent one of the tongues 10 connecting the member 6 and a pair of members 9. Alternative embodiments are described in which the harness comprises two bowshaped members 9 integrally connected at their mid points to the ends of the member 6.
