Abstract
Vitamin A compositions, which may be directly compressed into tablet form, comprise (i) from 30-60% by wt. of a vitamin A ester in the form of a stabilised pharmaceutical powder and (ii) from 40-70% by wt. of either microcrystalline cellulose or a mixture of said cellulose and dicalcium phosphate or a mixture of said cellulose and tricalcium phosphate, the mixture of microcrystalline cellulose and dicalcium phosphate or tricalcium phosphate containing at least 35% by wt. of microcrystalline cellulose. The vitamin A ester may be the acetate or palmitate.
