A process for preparing a vitamin composition, characterized in that it consists of intimately mixing: (1) from 30% to 60% by weight of a vitamin A ester and (2) from 40% to 70% by weight of a material chosen from the group consisting of: (a) microcrystalline cellulose (b) a mixture of microcrystalline cellulose and dicalcium phosphate and (c) a mixture of microcrystalline cellulose and tricalcium phosphate, except that when a cellulose mixture is present microcrystalline and phosphatic compound, the microcrystalline cellulose constitutes at least 35% of the weight of the mixture; and, if desired, by directly compressing the obtained mixture into tablets.
